Biricoccolo Academy
The documents concerning and describing the activity of the Academy are:
The Statute this document states that every active member of the Academy is the “owner” of one Biricoccolo tree and so he can taste its fruits
The Hymn written in an ironic style on the basis of F.Mendellsohn’s music, “sings” the spirit of the Academy
The Biricoccolo Academy is a Cultural Association whose goal is the human creativity enhancement, through the synergic interaction between different fields like the artistic, the technological and the naturalistic activities.
The name comes from the biricoccolo tree, taken as a symbol. In fact the biricoccolo tree, a natural hybrid between plum and apricot trees, is a demonstration of the strength and capacity of nature towards its own innovation, sometimes also in a difficult frame.
Officially established in the year 2002, the Academy is located in the “Cascina Nuova”, a farmhouse situated near Suno, a village in the district of Novara in the North of Italy.
Its principal aim is to organize meetings of different kind and to develop projects, cultural products and other activities as a reaction to the widely spread omogeneous and omologated modern kind of life.
Giacomo Ruspa is the founder and organizer of the Academy.
Graduated in Physics at the Turin University, after a short experience at the Rome University, joined the Fiat Research Centre, where he spent all his professional life in the acoustic and noise field.
Interested in music, he received a Diploma in Piano from the “A.Vivaldi” Music Academy in Alessandria
After retiring in 1997, his attention was addressed full time to develop activities in the Cascina Nuova, the family farm house.
